Once you have admired Rocamadour from the point of view of l’Hospitalet, you can get down in the valley to walk to the top of Rocamadour. On the way to Santiago de Compostella, Rocamadour is a pilgrimage destination. Its basilica and its crypt are classified at the UNESCO world heritage. But the pleasure to visit them has to be earned. You’ll first have to climb the Pilgrims Stairs. 216 steps leads to 7 chapels digged into the rock.
